Tom Cruise Takes Manhattan for U.S. Premiere of Paramount Pictures's 'Mission: Impossible III'
Tom Cruise, the most exciting and successful action star in the world, returns to one of his signature roles, Secret Agent Ethan Hunt, in the summer's most highly anticipated action thriller, "Mission: Impossible III" -- and Cruise celebrated the U.S. premiere of the film today at the Tribeca Film Festival with a full day of screenings and events throughout Manhattan as part of "Mission: NYC."
Cruise began his mission by appearing live on "TRL" in Times Square, which held a premiere -- Cruise's first of the day -- for the show's audience. Traveling by fire truck to the 34th St. heliport, Cruise flew in an Aerospatiale AS355 around the Statue of Liberty, landing at Pier 6. There, a Confederate F131 Hellcat motorcycle was waiting for him; Cruise rode to the Tribeca Performing Arts Center for his second premiere of the day. Leaving Tribeca via a Saleen Mustang S281 Extreme sports car, Cruise sped to the South Cove boat launch, where he took a 51-foot Sea Ray Sundancer up the Hudson River to Harlem. Landing at the pier at 135th St. and 12th Ave., Cruise drove a Maybach 62 to the Magic Johnson Theatre, where he hosted his third premiere. Running around the corner to the subway station, Cruise caught the D train, which took him to the Ziegfeld Theatre and the fourth and final premiere on his mission.
