SCENES ON THE WAY TO GROUND ZERO part 2

Pictures taken from 11:40 am to 12:15 pm on Sep 11, 2001. Places: China Town, the City Hall & South Street Seaport.


The place is almost dark (and it is only noon!) Masks were distributed by the Fire Department, other agenices and some individuals. (I saw workers at Fulton market handing out water and tissue to people fleeing the area - The air was filled with dust & other particles and it would have been difficult to wade through the area without wet tissues)	Near the City Hall (4 blocks from the WTC complex) Municipal Bldg. built in 1914 on the right.

Downtown Manhattan, another view.	Security blanket in front of the NY Supreme Court where Bin Laden's followers, who attacked the WTC on 26 Feb 1993 killing 6 people with a truck full of explosives, were sentenced two months back..

The Usually crowded South Street Seaport.	The South Street Seaport - another view. It was established way back in 1821!

for whom? the wait was painful once they came to know that there won't be many survivors.	A 9-11 snap. To remember forever!
